| When asked for directions by a non-rider I have often given the advice not to ask directions of a motorcyclist! Surely the directions will lead you down the twistiest, most out of the way paths possible. I've often had people tell me "I can see everything want to see from the freeway" when I suggest they take a longer but more scenic back road. | |
| Modern GPS units have the same bias, they can't assign a "motorcycle" factor to a road. While we do keep a GPS with us on the bike, I find it most useful when I need to get "un-lost". Otherwise I leave it packed and go on what my brother Denny calls a "mystery cruise". | |
